Who is Matt Vough and why is he running for Luzerne County Council?
Coming from the Greater Pittston area, Matt knows the true meaning of hard work. Matt graduated from the University of Scranton in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and started his full-time career as a Marketing Manager at Keystone Automotive Operations soon thereafter. While attending the University of Scranton, Matt interned at Craft Oil in Avoca where he learned how to balance a complete work and school schedule.
Matt is not your normal politician. He is a 25-year-old with a deep passion for helping others and for growing Luzerne County into an area of destination. After graduating from the University of Scranton, Matt decided he wanted to stay in the area. Many college graduates coming out of college think they must get up and leave the area to make a comfortable living. Matt believes that with enough opportunities, recent college graduates will realize the true potential of Luzerne County.
What makes Matt qualified for County Council? The deciding quality of a candidate is different for every citizen in the county. My commitment and creativity are two qualities of mine that will make me a great candidate for Council. As I have stated before, I am committed to staying and helping in this area. I made a conscious effort after graduation to find a job locally and help shape the future of Luzerne County. This past November I closed on my first home and as a 25-year-old citizen of Luzerne county, I am proof that this area has the potential to be great. To do this, we need more jobs in the area. We must find ways to draw businesses and trade schools into our area to give your generation the tools to be great. My creativity will help the county think outside of the box on the important issues our county faces daily. We need a fresh set of eyes and ears on this Council, I believe I can be the eyes and ears the county desperately needs.
